One of the most common misconceptions about dental implants is that they cause a lot of pain.  Under most circumstances, the surgical placement of a dental implant induces minimal pain – in fact, much less pain than having the tooth pulled.  Once the implant has healed and the crown or denture has been attached to the implant (s), there also is a lack of pain.  While it may sound painful to have a screw implanted into the jawbone, most people state that pain pills are usually not needed.
